Getting Perspective

I have been writing these inspirations for over 4 years now, something I can hardly believe myself and in that time I have often put myself out there in a very honest fashion.  Today is going to be no different because what I want to discuss today I need to do in a very open way.  So here goes…

Lately I have been presented with the opportunity to practice what I preach.  I often marvel at the way the Universe always sends us the perfect people and situations to help us really grow.  What has been interesting about it however is that a couple of people have said to me that I do not seem like myself lately because I have had insecure, fearful and stressed out moments of late.  This really got me thinking because no matter how much you understand things in theory when it comes down to the practical it can be a whole other story.

My point being that in my own experience and my experience with many clients, we have this idea that we are going to reach a certain point and then no longer have those moments in our lives where we feel out of control, fearful or just generally out of balance.  I want you to know that I do not consider myself to be some enlightened teacher or person, I am just doing the best that I can with the knowledge and experience I have at any given moment.  My inspirations come because I am always learning and I am simply passing that on to you all.  And sometimes just because I know it does not mean it is not a challenge to live it!

The main thing is that we are always honest with ourselves, that we can admit to our shadows, fears, issues and behaviour patterns.  For instance the other night I was really triggered by the way someone I care about spoke to me.  The whole next day it bothered me, I found it really hard to shake it off until a friend connected the dots and re-minded me that rejection is one of my main challenges and as soon as I realised this, the upset began to dissipate.  Taking responsibility and creating awareness around ‘our stuff’ can really help to take the edge off it and puts us in a position to deal with it.

We are all created perfect but have forgotten that aspect of ourselves and so we are on a journey to get back there.  Along the way we have moments of enlightenment and moments of being completely the opposite, but the point is we are always growing and expanding.  It is not a race to get to enlightenment and even when you do, how do you know you are there?

Often you will get taken up to the mountain top, you get a glimpse of the view and then you are taken right back down again.  Each time you go up the mountain you get a better understanding and what you take back down with you is for you to share with others.

So if sometimes you feel as though you are going around in circles and want to give yourself a hard time because you may not feel you ‘have got it yet’ stop and realize that you are exactly where you need to be and you are growing all the time.  You have the power within you to overcome all obstacles and you will….

Have a wonderful weekend!  Sending all of you lots of love and light.
